Hello and welcome to the second in our series of lessons about guitar chord progressions.
So in this lesson, we're going to expand on the basic idea of the
walk-up with two variations; the first of which I call Play It Again,
Sam and the second which I call Two Steps Forward, One Step Back.
Again, these are simple ideas but the implications of them when used
creatively are vast. So vast that I'm convinced that if you explore
these with your creative attention and capacity, by the end of this
series of lessons, you will have a resource, a powerful resource for
creative self-expression and playing guitar and guitar chord
progressions with more confidence and having more fun as you play.
So the first one, the variation of the walk-up is called Play it Again,
Sam and it involves repeating musical notes. I'll demonstrate. (plays
guitar) Simple. One more thing I want to have you start to integrate
into your guitar chord progressions is feeling a rhythm or a groove and
to really get into this. Start to wave back and forth and feel like
boom, chick, boom, chock and play it in the context of this rhythm that
you feel in your body kind of like this. Ready? Go.
Now the second guitar chord progression idea, I call it Two Steps
Forward, One Step Back. Essentially we'll start on the note and we'll
climb up two steps. We'll start from G. Go G, A, B, A, A, B, C, B, B, C,
D, C. Again, there's a hundred ways that you do that and experiment
with that.
So, subscribe to this channel so that we can continue moving forward
together and leave your comments. Leave a video comment and if you can,
see if you can anticipate where we're going with this. Anticipate what
other variations on the walk-up we could create and better yet, maybe
anticipate where I'm not going so that we're collaborating together and
doing more as a group than I could by myself.
